I had a client that requested we meet in his kitchen. Halfway through our meeting, he excused himself to go to the bathroom but left the door open so we could continue to talk. I charged extra for that meeting.

Well….we just had our first housing inspection. This was our first out of three inspections that we have to undergo in order to move out.

The inspector said, “Everything looks great!”

Score! One down, two to go.

After she left, Ron did a “white boys can’t dance” victory dance. I should have filmed it! He had his thumbs sticking out, shaking his hips, and everything! He even had a little lip curling action going on, with a silent “ohhhh yeah” while nodding his head. I think his eyes were even closed! Priceless.

#1: I’m guilty!

#2: I never understood why my mother ~~wasn’t~~ isn’t supportive of me and my decisions. Now I know I’m not alone. Relieved.

#3: I get a high when one of my pieces sell. I still keep myself grounded. I realize I still have a LONG way to go.

#4: Well, I actually agree with this one, but still I can’t help but to charter into unknown territory.

#5: I AM TOTALLY GUILTY OF THIS!

#6: I’ll have to think about that one.

#7: Yes, at times.

#8. Everywhere I go people/friends/family say, “you should paint this or that, etc. because it sells and you’ll make lots of money”- blah blah blah. I give it some consideration but ultimately, No, I want to paint what I want to paint-Period-The End.

#9: Yes! And let me tell you, it is nerve wrecking. Commissions are one of the most stressful things. EVER! You never fully know what the client wants until after you complete the piece.

#10. I’ve pulled a ~~few~~ MANY all nighters attempting to finish a piece. Insane.

there are some songs that are moments in your life.

this song is one of them. it was before my breakup with the ex, long before it, but when i knew it was inevitable. it’s what i hoped he would think of me in the end.

it’s not a brilliant song. it’s not musically very interesting. it’s not a new theme. it’s prototypically chartered territory. it’s repetitive and bland.

and that is probably why it rattles my cage in an important way.

Last night we got a call from Housing saying that they have a house available on base for us!

FINALLY!

However, it won’t be available until December 17, meaning I will be moving at 8 months pregnant AND over Christmas. NOT ideal, but it’s better than nothing.

BRING ON the packing, cleaning for the inspection, moving furniture, and setting up the baby nursery!
